Pretty In Punk

More makeup shots from last term's work. My design brief was either Historical or Cultural. I really love Punk culture and decided to work with it as a main inspiration for this assessment. All hair, makeup and styling is by me apart from my model's awesome vintage jacket. 

I was lucky enough to have such a baben model, thanks again Bron Tomaszewski for being an absolute honey!

1920's Glam

A bit of work from last term, as you can see it's pretty self-explanatory 1920's Glam was my design brief.

RAW: Natural Born Artists presents Communiqué

Last night I attended the RAW: Natural Born Artists presents Communiqué event held at the Melbourne Pavilion in North Melbourne. 

RAW: Natural Born Artists is an independent arts organization, for artists, by artists.

They're an international community made up of creative individuals across the globe. Their mission is to provide independent artists within the first 10 years of their career with the tools, resources and exposure needed to inspire and cultivate creativity. 

They welcome all genres of art including independent film, fashion, music, visual art, performing art, hairstylists and makeup artists. RAW currently operates in nearly 60 cities across the United States, Australia, Canada and now London.

I honestly didn't know what to expect other than a bunch of creatives all working together to create one great event. 

My girlfriend Caitlyn was lucky enough to participate in the awesome event and was asked to design the Make Up for designer ElandTino, above are three of her models. (Not all images are mine, all model shots are taken by Sunny Lim of Cliq Photography.)

Noir

What better way to start off my week than with a job interview. Job interviews are always something I dread, not because of the actual interview process but because of what to wear. I think you're always going to be safe in a black blazer and a good pair of black boots. Thank the Lord Sportsgirl came to my rescue and helped me out at just $89.99 these boots were a steal considering how many times a week I wear them and how comfortable they are. 

My blazer is from H&M I also bought it in white, you can never have too many blazers, especially white ones. My top is from Cotton On, I'm pretty sure I got it for $5 when they had a sale and my jeans are Nobody, one of the most comfortable pair of jeans I own.

  

Knit Weather

A bit casual today, went out for lunch to one of my favourite cafes; Cafe Go with girlfriends.  Spending the next few hours in Melbourne for dinner with family, it'll be a quiet one tonight with my best friends Apple TV and Doritos. Wearing Cotton On Boyfriend jeans, H&M knit and bag and good ol' Vans, Happy Saturday!

2NE1

I have a new found love for K-Pop, it's not everyone's taste but these babes are so fashionable and have so much Korean swag it's not funny. I've always been a fan of Asian culture constantly having a new anime on the go and eating way too much ramen.

The name 2NE1, pronounced to anyone or twenty one, combines the phrases "21st century" and "new evolution". The group formed in 2009 with a label called YG Entertainment who also have PSY signed to their label, which most of you would know (Gangnam Style). The members include CL (Lee Chaerin, 이채린) as the front girl who is my favourite followed by Dara (Park Sandara, 박산다라) , Bom (Park Bom, 박봄) and Minzy (Gong Minji, 공민지). 

They almost remind me of Gwen Stefani's harajuku girls back in the day when her album L.A.M.B (Love. Angel. Music. Baby.) came out in 2003. Their music videos are so entertaining to watch, the costumes, hair and makeup are all done perfectly. Below are my fave clips from their newest album "Crush".
